Happy spring, folks

The weather here in the midwest is turning from winter very quickly into spring as all the trees have now passed their blooming stages, and we're smack in the middle of mow-your-lawn-twice-a-week season.

Last night The Girl and I took honorable dog #2 out for a walk around the lake at Voice of America Park, and the weather was gorgeous. This morning it's turned a little chillier, but that doesn't mean I'm any less ready for summer.

And these spring afternoons have been reminding me of spring afternoons at the Lambda Chi house. We would walk back to the house after classes, and from a block away - straight up the street leading home - you would start to hear the strains of music blasting from the house stereo, one of the brothers having dragged it out onto the second-floor balcony and thrown in one of the half dozen discs that seemed to be in permanent rotation.

Spring afternoons, to me, sound like this...

window music is always a joy. it just sucks with you get average-computer-speaker joe trying to ring joy to the masses... it just doesnt work out too well. everything sounds like a bad rice krispies commercial

You gotta have the wattage to pump out the tunes for window music. And it was awesome to have the entire house agreed on one stereo throwing the sound for blocks around - and all pointed straight at campus. Never had a complaint from the normal housing neighborhood behind.

Whoever got there first after lunch got to throw in the tunes. Fair game.

Today in the car, I got "Lightning Crashes" followed by "One Love"...perfect timing.

Oh, and the omission of "I Shot the Sheriff" was intentional because I hate that song.

Hate it

But did you pull a couch out onto the front stoop to ogle the women while drinking a beer. Oh, wait, there were no women at Wabash and you don't drink beer. Sad...

We would often drag couches out to the balcony and talk about girls...pathetically...

does that count?
