My students insisted that I distinguish 'white' stick people from 'black' stick people by coloring in the faces/heads of the 'black' people. I wondered if it would be offensive, but it actually seems to work pretty well. It's now part of my visual dictionary.

I am slightly embarrassed to admit I thought it might be the first time someone stole home base.....
