Hope springs again?

We haven't had a snow day in nearly two years at PHS, and we're friggin' due.

Maybe Friday (predicted ice/sleet for Friday morning from Winter Storm Q(?)) can finally pan out for us.

So, per the internets it looked like PHS was out because of the fire system not working. Did you go in?

It was a weird day. The district - and pretty much every district in Cincinnati - was delayed two hours to let the ice melt some. That was a very good decision; by eight thirty when I headed out, the roads beyond my driveway were just fine.

PHS was closed, but the staff had to report to central office for meetings all day. On Thursday our planned fire drill didn't happen. Apparently when the principals pulled the fire alarm, nothing happened. The last check, in December, had shown it working just fine. The fire marshal was called and said we couldn't have school because we couldn't notify everyone and the fire department if something happened. We could still have conferences and our scheduling fair last night, though, which seemed weird to me.

So we got six hours of meetings while the rest of the district got six hours of school.

I'm counting it as a non-snow day. The high school students feel otherwise.
